‘Angel / Heavenly Being’ in Hindi

Right after my 6 year old son’s cancer scans we drove past a mural of an angel in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It felt like I let a weight was lifting and I surrendered to the universe. I had no control of the outcome and I exhaled. That was also the start of a series (Devaduta & Pranidhana).

At the time I lived in Delhi, India and that is where this piece was born. She hung in our home incomplete for several months. She traveled with us to live in Pune, India for 2 more years. I worked on her some more but it was only after our return to the US in 2019 when she was finally ready to be completed. (By this time my son had been in remission for 5 years and doing great)
