‘Anda’ means ‘Egg’ in Hindi (Could also refer to ‘universe’ or ‘world’)

These pieces originated in late 2023. It is part of Antoine’s connection series and explores intimate emotional bonds. Although this series has a strong feminine energy, there is no direct depiction of gender. These latest two pieces also include 5th hands that emphasize the feeling of closeness, encouraging the viewer to lose track of where one figure ends and the next begins. Anda VI & VII are also larger than Antoine’s previous Anda pieces (which were 12x12” and 24x24”) This allows the viewer to be even more present in the moment. 

Antoine used an array of mediums and techniques, including acrylic paint, oil paint, linseed oil, mineral spirits, charcoal and graphite. Drips happen towards and against gravity and sections include thick impasto techniques. Splats bring a sense of energy and spontaneity.  Antoine believes relationships are layered and multidimensional, but despite the large variety of surfaces and techniques, she still succeeds in creating unified works with a sense of delicacy and intimacy.
