Akela

In Hindi the word Akela means alone or solitary. These intimate studies of solo female figures created with brittle brushes in contrast to the smooth and simple space around them, focus on moments of emotional isolation. They include ineligible text, which refers to stories untold, misunderstood or yet to be written. Antoine also uses a variety of techniques including impasto paint applied by a palette knife, controlled brushwork on the focal areas and spontaneous splatter letting go of control onto change.
